Palm and Link Program - PLink

PLink is a complete Link Zone Editor and Data Logger that runs on a Palm platform. Using the 2 way communication protocol of Link ECU, PLink can perform:

	Real time parameter display
	Peak-hold on real time display
	Datalog
	Conditional datalog (auto tag)
	Datalog plot and view
	Real time zone manager and editor
	Map file storage control
	Complete exchange of data with PC

PLink relies on Hotsync capability of Palm to transport and archive Map and Datalog files.

Although the program can replace a Link keypad, it really shines in managing and editing MAP files and in capturing intermittent problems using the auto tag capability. There are few functions of keypad which can not be performed using PLink.

This program is provided AS IS with no written or implied guarantee or warranty of any kind. Zone editing requires intimate knowledge of zone registers and user's ECU chip version.

I been very happy with the way it has turned out with the limited screen space and memory. Speed is slow especially the first splash screen (It takes about 7 seconds to show). However, once the program is running, screen to screen delay is about 2 seconds.

Requirements

	Palm OS 3.5 or later with minimum of 1M free memory is required.
	Minimum of 4M of main memory on Palm device.
	Palm (have not tried the program with other Palm OS PDAs)
	Serial Link
	Serial connection cable (Hotsync cable and/or null modem cable)
	LINK 9/18 code or later (although most bidirectional code should work.)
	Good working knowledge of Link zone locations (the zone manager section is not for Link novice.)
	Win98 or higher to run the Map Conversion and Datalog conversion utility program (may work on Win95)
	Fresh set of batteries.

Version 1.4

8/04/02 - Version 1.4 is available. New features are:

* Displays "n" neutral flag and "*" idle flag
* Voltage display
* TPS or Aux input display
* Aux input (for WB or EGT) can be displayed either native voltage or converted value
* +10 deg CAS setting command is supported. (for 5/02 or later chips)
* Automatically updates "C" values in monitor mode.

As a default, version 1.4 comes with AUX display which shows the raw input voltage. WBO2 sensor conversion files are available for FJO, DIY, Lambdaboy. 4/14/02 - fixed a bug which prevented modifying Link after a datalog. added feature of saving last datalog setting when exiting the program.

New Map Convert utility program version 1.3 is now available.

4/9/02 - allowed continuation of datalog when coming back from zone manager. Longer beep for zone manager search function if there are no match.

	Datalog graphing is very slow
	+10 degree setting function conflicts with idle stabilization

Serial Link Mod

Instructions on modifying your Serial Link box so that you can plug in Palm Hotsync serial cable directly without using a null modem cable.

MapCvt Program Version 1.3

Map conversion utility program. This Windows program will convert map files to and from Palm PDB format to Link MAP format. If you save or change map files on Palm they will show up in the "back up" directory of your Palm user directory next time you Hotsync.

This program will convert PDB files to Linkwin format MAP files. However it will convert both Linkwin format and MLL format MAP files to PDB files.

Download the zip file to a temp directory and unzip it there. Run the setup program to finish the install. DO NOT change the default install directory. If the program is not installed in 'PLink' directory under 'Program files' directory, It may not function correctly.

Register

PLink is now free. Use the fkey program (see the Install and Download page) to obtain the registration code.
