PLink Install

Download Version 1.4

Download MapCvt V1.3

Download DLCvt

Download fkey program

Version 1.4 must be installed fresh.  Delete any previous versions before installing version 1.4.

Remember that the first Hotsync after the initial install will be very slow.  Afterwards, hotsync speed will return to normal.  Also if you save or change many MAP files or datalog large files, then that will also slow down the next Hotsync speed.

PC (Windows) Utility programs.

There are two utility programs provided with PLink.  When installing the MapCvt program, keep the files in the default install directory (C:\program files\plink).  Do not delete or move utility programs from this directory.  Both utility programs must be located in the PLink directory.

Use the MapCvt program to convert Map files back and forth.

Use DLCvt program to convert Palm datalog files to datalog text files.  This program is provided only to registered users.  The new MDOS program provided with this utility program marks the auto tagged sections with new characters.  Be sure to install MapCvt first before installing DLCvt program.

bullet* - manual tagged section
bullet# - auto tagged section
bullet& - both auto and maual tagged section.

The new MDOS program is geared for air-temp chips and may not function correctly with older chips.  In this case, copy an older version of MDOS.exe to PLink directory as MDOSAUTO.exe.

Use the fkey program to gain the registration code.

This is the splash screen.  Here you can select the engine size and also register the program.

The number shown in the registration area is how many run times are left.  PLink will demo 3 times and then lock out.  To register, use the exact number that appears in the I.D. field in the fkey program.  Click on the empty field in the fkey program to get the registration number.

Once you get the registration number, write it in the REG# field and then tap on the "REG#" label.

Remember it will take about 8 seconds to go to Monitor screen once you hit the START button.  (You will only see a blank screen during that time.)
